Rural Italian/Tuscan

The Tuscan area of Italy is known for its Medieval walled cities, fields of sunflowers and vineyards. It is also known for the revival of native stone buildings which are hundreds of years old, and the creation of destination homes and resorts out of the ancient stone shells of these buildings. Native wines and edibles are enhanced by the architectural style that gives them credence...including local stone, clay tile roofs, wooden shutters, terra cotta tiles, and wonderful old world kitchens that have been modernized with the latest appliances and amenities. This architectural style has been popular in the United States, in particular the western part of the U.S., because it says "warmth, hospitality and authenticity".
