Three Hot Interior Design Trends for 2017

 |  May 1, 2017

With the continued popularity of home improvement and interior design shows, it’s no surprise that the interior design industry brings in $10 billion each year, and specialized interior design is predicted to grow about 20% each year. Apart from the industry specifics, there’s never been a better time for you to consider bringing an interior designer into your home to help give your home’s interior a facelift. In fact, 47% of all Americans haven’t given their home’s decor an update in five or more years!

If you are stuck in a rut over what you should do to revamp your home’s interior design or decoration this year? Ask any of our team’s interior designers during the design process and we’ll recommend what fits your taste and the style of your home. With that said, here are three fun trends that have been appearing this year.

Matte

Whether it’s with your appliances or with a new coat of paint, matte is in this year. With a matte finish, you’re able to make a statement, especially if it’s on an item or surface that isn’t typically matte. Consider contrasting your matte finish with a different finish elsewhere in your room for an extra pop!

Marble

Marble: whether it’s a countertop, shower or wall covering. Marble is a timeless, elegant look. The texture, the feel and the warmth it can bring is uncompromising.  One German cabinet company (Eggersmann) has even gone so far as to use thinly engineered marble slabs as fronts, sides, and worksurfaces for their impeccably made contemporary cabinets.

Jewel tones

If your home or office interior design has been fairly neutral up to this point, 2017 is the perfect time to make a change. This year, jewel tones — deep, rich colors inspired by emeralds, sapphires, and rubies can definitely brighten things up. These beautiful colors can add major levels of drama and a modern look to an interior design.
