Phoenix Dream Center “Dream Room”
In this project for the Phoenix Dream Center, we took an old, previously un-airconditioned Embassy Suites hotel on Grand and 35th Avenues in Phoenix, Arizona (a sketchy part of town, to say the least) and transformed one of the old suites into special place of refuge, designed to house two girls who have literally been rescued off the street – victims of human trafficking.
A number of top Phoenix-Scottsdale interior designers each volunteered to take responsibility for a specific suite, completely redesign the space, and furnish it at our expense (with the help of many wonderful Phoenix area suppliers and manufacturers!) for these women in dire need of help.
Jerry Meek of Desert Star Construction headed up the project, providing the infrastructure and construction labor for all of the rooms. Thank you, Desert Star, for inviting us to be a part of this amazing project!
As we worked on the redesign, installation and furnishing of our suite, we envisioned the creation of a safe, loving environment that really felt like “home” for girls who may have never had anything like it.
We have since been introduced to girls who lived in our little suite and felt the love, and have turned their lives around thanks to the Dream Center.
