Sedona Seven Canyons Retreat
Sedona Seven Canyons Retreat The rock formations in world-renowned Sedona, Arizona are breathtaking, no matter how you look at them. But as a backdrop to a home nestled in Sedona’s famous canyons, they add a 3-dimensional depth to the experience of each room. The use of unabashed color in the interior palette of this home gives it a vibrant and exciting energy, blending with and complimenting the bold colors of Mother Nature outside…the greens of the Pinon trees and the golf course grass, the blue of the sky and the terra cotta/gold hues of the rock formations themselves. Our clients were inspired by the patterns and depth of color in custom Kyle Bunting hair on hide area rugs. Designing them was the starting point for our design process, leading to the selection of fabrics and furnishings to complete the picture. Our clients also owned a Native American portrait by Santa Fe artist, Stan Natchez, which greets visitors as they enter the home and sets the stage for this contemporary Southwestern jewel in the Red Rocks of Sedona. Scottsdale Waterfront Remodel
Scottsdale Waterfront Remodel With so many homes in the Valley in need of updating, we are busy taking older structures and designs and giving them new life. This project offered amazing possibilities. Starting with a condominium on the 10th floor of a high-rise on the Canal in Scottsdale which was dark, with broken up spaces, our goal was to take advantage of windows on 2 sides of the building and include multi-functional spaces into one open room. Our solution to these segmented, dark spaces was to take out walls and turn the kitchen, breakfast area, dining room, and living room into one large space with updated lighting and fabulous 180-degree views.
Desert Highlands Contemporary
Desert Highlands Contemporary This custom home is a well-balanced blend of striking contemporary architecture with welcoming, very personal living spaces. With the use of floor to ceiling glass and pocketing patio doors, the exterior water and fire features and beautiful views can be enjoyed from inside the home as well as on the patios. Featuring the use of copper metal accents inside and outside, we also designed the great room fireplace to be clad in copper. The primary bath features a full height window over the vanities with a view of Pinnacle Peak mountain, a local landmark.. A natural ledge stone used on exterior and interior walls visually ties the color of the surrounding rock formations to the palette of the home. Camelback Mountain Remodel
Camelback Mountain Remodel We believe in the importance of blending interior and exterior experiences in Arizona, where we enjoy perfect weather much of the year. This home, on the side of Camelback mountain, allows a seamless experience in indoor-outdoor living. Before this extensive remodel, there were old fashioned “sliding glass doors”, which allowed passage but didn’t encourage the use of the entire home and patio as one experience.By opening up walls of pocketing floor to ceiling glass, the experience became synergistic, expanding living spaces. Another important aspect of this remodel was dropping a “floating” wood ceiling in the great room, where the original ceiling was uncomfortably high and architecturally bland. The warm wood and indirect lighting around it adds intimacy and warmth. Other aesthetic and functional additions to the home include adding a back kitchen, taking the messy function of the kitchen out of site of the entertaining area, and adding a beautifully lit wine wall in the dining area. Contemporary Desert Southwest
Contemporary Desert Southwest The term “Southwest” in the context of architecture and design has taken on a new meaning in recent years. No longer kitschy, it now represents contemporary architecture that blends with and compliments the surrounding Sonoran Desert. Floor to ceiling and pocketing glass walls offer uninterrupted views, and materials used on the home feel like a part of the desert vocabulary. This home rests in a linear fashion along a gentle ridge that offers views for 50 miles in almost every direction. With an architectural backdrop like this, the interior design and furnishings needed to support the structure and the environment it lives in, rather than providing any competition that might detract from the whole of the design. We take delight in creating visually stimulating, comfortable homes for our clients to live and play in style. This is the meaning of our tagline, Luxury That Lives Well.
